The SurvivalCreek Firestarter is made with a magnesium rod that when shaved and ignited has the capacity of burning at greater than 500 Degrees Fahrenheit.  Includes a steel striker bar and leather lanyard.  The magnesium shavings will also ignite when wet. The SurvivalCreek Firestarter can be used hundreds of times.  The wooden handle can be used as tender by shaving off small amounts. While the product will light with either the magnesium or wood, it is best used when a mixture of wooden tinder and magnesium are shaved together into a pile. The wood is used as kindle while the magnesium adds higher levels of heat.

For best results, add dry kindling
